Taylor is a 2L at Robson Hall who is a passionate and driven leader and is committed to you, your success, and making next year your year. She knows that this past year wasn’t great, but she plans on using the successes and mistakes of this past year to create a better tomorrow for Robson Hall Students.
Taylor came to Robson Hall after finishing a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice at the University of Winnipeg. She also comes to Robson with 2 years of practical experience as a legal assistant under her belt. She has had the opportunity to build meaningful connections with Manitoba employers, both urban and rural, and has a vast amount of knowledge of the Winnipeg legal community. In short, Taylor has the skills, connections and abilities to adapt to any situation while advocating for the best interests of Robson students. She not only has a can-do attitude, but the will-do attitude to go along with it. Taylor knows how to make things happen.
The main areas of Taylor’s platform for Vice President External include:
Funding: utilizing already established connections with firms to advocate and secure further funding for students. Additionally, I plan on working with each student group/committee individually to ensure that they receive equitable funding;
Networking and Professional Resources: ensuring that all Robson students have all of the resources and networking opportunities available to them to give them the best chance at obtaining employment and enhancing their networking skills. This includes planning a variety of panels and workshops for students;
Student Success: implementing new methods, such as the PDC Bi-Weekly Bulletin and VPX Drop-In Hours, so that students are fully informed in all things professional development and have someone to reach out to if they’re struggling with networking, resumes, etc.
Currently, in her roles as the Law Banquet Co-Coordinator and the Student Liaison for the MBA’s Women’s Legal Forum through the FLF, she has enhanced her skills, connections, and abilities to adapt to any situation, while advocating for the best interests of Robson students. Taylor knows that next year is about looking forward and making the best out of what we have. She is excited to work with the various student groups and committees, along with the Robson student body, to make the upcoming Academic Year everything it can be, and more!
In her spare time, you can find Taylor playing with her quarantine pupper Jax, in a virtual spin class or out adventuring in the beautiful province of Manitoba.
