Typically, many think of legal dramas as those involving law firms, courtrooms and litigation. This talk will examine how other types of narratives – political television shows – may also serve as sites for exploring important legal issues. Drawing from an earlier article, Dr. Amar Khoday examines how the political television series, The West Wing, addressed issues concerning international law, genocide and the construction of an obligation to intervene to stop such international crimes.
